The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     The State Board of Antiquities was created in 1965 (Ch. 65-300, Laws) and consisted of the Governor and Cabinet.  The Board established rules and regulations to protect and preserve historic sites, buildings, treasure trove, and objects of antiquity which had scientific or historic value.  The Board could enter into salvage contracts and was mandated to plan a state archives program.  The Board was replaced by the Florida Board of Archives and History in 1967 (Ch. 67-50, Laws).
Summary:     The series contains the records of the State Board of Antiquities from 1965 to 1967.  The records include legislative materials, correspondence, minutes, agenda, reports, leases, and memoranda.
