Summary:     These volumes and boxes contain the information submitted to the Secretary of State in support of applications, from 1874 through 1953, for domestic charters of incorporation for corporations located in Florida.  The details include the following:  the type of business to be conducted or services offered; the names and addresses of the corporate officers; the location within the state of the corporate headquarters; the amount of capitalization; and the duration of the corporation, e.g. perpetual, ten years, five years, or more.
Each volume is imprinted with either a letter or a number on its spine.  The first ten volumes are marked with letters, and the remaining volumes are marked with numbers.  Most volumes contain an alphabetical index at the front.  A few external indexes are available in Series 1387.
Most sets of articles are headed with a serial number that is penciled in at the top of the first page.  The practice of marking each set of articles with a serialized number was abandoned in volume 33; it was resumed within volume 37.  However, the last number in volume 33 is 5,700, and the first number in volume 37 is 5,923.  Volumes 180 through 188 are primarily amendments to earlier charters.  The entries in volume 187 are unnumbered.  There is no volume 35.
Boxes 190 through 192 contain original articles of incorporation submitted to the Secretary of State from which he made the official bound record copy.
