Biographical/Historical:     The Florida State Commission on Child Support (Governor's Commission on Child Support) was created by an executive order (84-226) of Governor Bob Graham on November 30, 1984, as a requirement of Public Law 98-378, Section 15.  It was established to examine, investigate and study the operation of the State Child Support System with regard to securing support and parental involvement for both AFDC (Aid to Families with Dependent Children) and non-AFDC children, including but not limited to such specific problems as visitation, the establishment of appropriate objective standards for support, the enforcement of interstate obligations, the availability, cost, and effectiveness of services both to children who are eligible for aid and to children who are not, and the need for additional State or Federal legislation to obtain support for all children.      The Commission expired on September 30, 1985, after submitting the final report to Governor Graham.
Summary:     This series consists of the final report of the commission, reports of eight of the nine task forces, trancripts of the meetings and public hearings held, and correspondence.  Also included in the series are videotapes of the meetings held in Tampa and Miami.
