The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     The Florida Legislature created the International Affairs Commission created in 1990 to be the policy making element of the state in handling international affairs (Laws of Florida, Chapter. 90-201). The Commission dissolved in 1996 (Laws, Ch. 96-320). The Department of State replaced the Commission and assumed responsibility for the state's international affairs functions.

Summary:     The series includes inter-agency and international correspondence, international business promotion grant records, publications regarding agency and international activities, and budget records of the Commission. These records reflect the Commission's mandate to serve as the state's designated organization for enhancing and coordinating foreign affairs, promoting international cultural and educational exchanges and encouraging international economic development.
