Biographical/Historical:     Charles R. Noegel (1915-2001) was born in Eastman, Georgia. In 1921, his family moved to Ellaville in Suwannee County, Florida. His father, Henry C. Noegel, ran the Ellaville Post Office and established the Camp Suwannee campgrounds on the Suwannee River. The Noegel family visited Camp Suwannee often and took photos of the area. Later, Noegel wrote a history of Ellaville.

Summary:     This collection contains photographs, postcards, slides, and a small number of films of several locations in Florida taken by Charles R. Noegel. Included are 125 photographs and 3 postcards of Ellaville and Madison people, buildings, homes, and street scenes, and the Suwannee and Withlacoochee rivers and flooding, mostly dating between 1920 and 1930. The collection also includes about 200 slides of Florida images with an accompanying audio tape narration, and miscellaneous slides and films of various Florida locations.
