The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Summary: ***DEACCESSIONED***    This collection is comprised of city directories for Brooklyn, New York; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Dallas, Texas; Mobile, Alabama; Nashville, Tennessee; New York, New York; Richmond, Virginia; San Antonio, Texas; and Savannah, Georgia.  The largest collections are for Brooklyn (1882-1902), Nashville (1882-1901), and New York City (1882-1902).

    The beginning of each year has an index of advertisers, advertising, in some cases a street map, then an alphabetic listing of names.  In most entries, the occupation is listed in addition to the street address.

Location of Originals/Duplicates: The beginning of the microfilm states the material was filmed from the holdings of the American Antiquarian Society in Worcester, Massachusetts.
