The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Summary:     This collection consists of miscellaneous family histories and genealogies, listing family members from as early as 1050 to 1972. The bulk of the materials are from the 1600s to the early 1900s. The materials appear to be books and family genealogical collections containing pedigree charts, family history charts, photographs, letters, tombstone inscriptions, and transcripts. For an index of families and time frames, see the microfilm listing. The bulk of the families listed appear to be New England families through the Central Atlantic states.

Location of Originals/Duplicates: In 1975, when these materials were microfilmed, the books and genealogical materials were part of the Tampa Branch Genealogical Library of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Ownership/Custodial History: It is not clear how these materials were obtained by the Florida State Archives.  The materials were probably obtained by the State Library of Florida as a gift, and then acquired by the Florida State Archives when the genealogy collection was transferred to the Archives in the early 1980s.
