Summary:     This collection consists of travel reminiscences and an original log of travel notes of Robert L. Humphries, who traveled in Florida in the late 1940s as a Georgia teenager. One reminiscence recalls a 1947 herpetological collecting trip in the areas of the Okefenokee Swamp, Cedar Key, the Withlacoochee River, Bonita Springs, the Tamiami Trail, Homestead, Flamingo, Key West, Marathon, and Gainesville. It mentions collecting along the road in the Everglades and notes a meeting in the early 1980s at Flamingo with Governor Bob Graham and Marjory Stoneman Douglas. The second reminiscence, and the travel log on which it is based, describes a 1948 Suwannee River canoe trip from Augusta, Georgia, to Dowling Park, near Live Oak.
