Summary:     This collection consists of Herring family records primarily concerned with property located in the northeastern Leon County community of Miccosukee. This property consists of several acres located in Section 8, Township 2 North, Range 3 East. These documents are indentures or deeds that transfer ownership of different parcels of land to or among various members of the family. A 1908 map indicates the Herring sub-division of the Miccosukee community. Also included are two documents concerned with the 1850 sale of property belonging to the estate of William Herring and the allocation of the widow's third to Nancy R. Herring (1820-1904).
