Adalaide and her husband, Harry, were founding members of Faith Presbyterian Church and later Covenant Church. Harry repaired antiques, and numerous churches in North Florida and South Georgia utilized his woodwork and wood carvings. After serving in World War II, Harry attended Florida State University on the GI Bill and then worked there for 20 years before moving on to the Florida Department of Community Affairs.
