The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     The White House Conference on Children and Youth is a tradition which dates back to 1909 when President Theodore Roosevelt invited a group of citizens to Washington to discuss the welfare of children and youth.  Between 1920 and 1970, succeeding presidents convened similar conferences.  These meetings brought together community leaders and workers with children and youth to bolster services, both public and private.  The Children's Bureau and other important services have been started through these conferences.
Summary:     The series documents Florida's participation in the 1970 White House Conference on Children and Youth.  It reflects the interaction between national, state, and local efforts in gathering data, disseminating information, and preparing reports to be presented at the Conference.  Documentation includes correspondence, subject files, reference materials, reports, and publications.
