Biographical/Historical:     Robert Jeter Paterson (1864-1929) was the Tax Assessor for Madison County, Florida, from 1895 to 1914, when he was appointed to the Florida Tax Commission. He moved with his family to Tallahassee for the duration of his term, and then they moved back to Madison County. Paterson then served as County Judge until his death in 1929.
Summary:     This collection contains some business and personal papers of Robert J. Paterson of Madison County, Florida. It includes tax records for various Florida railroad companies, business correspondence related to Paterson's role as County Tax Assessor, and personal correspondence regarding Paterson's finances.
