Biographical/Historical:     C. Verne Klintworth was born in 1897 in Ohio. By 1920, he had moved to Tampa, Florida, where he worked as a photographer into the 1960s. He died in Tampa in 1983.
Summary:     This collection consists primarily of acetate negatives taken by portrait photographer C. Verne Klintworth in his Tampa, Florida, photographic studio. Included are portraits of Tampa residents and others who sought Klintworth's services. Each subject's negatives are housed together in one sleeve with the subject number written on the sleeve. The collection also includes an alphabetical card index indicating the sleeve numbers for each subject for each year in which Klintworth took the photographs. In addition, there are several studio journals, dated 1929 to 1964, listing names, dates, and cost figures for photographic work; and a receipt copy book dated 1965-1966.
