Summary:     This collection consists of approximately 500 black-and-white photographic images documenting life at the beginning of the 20th century in Volusia County, Florida, and the surrounding area. It includes photographs of nature scenes, structures, and people. Many images are from DeLand and Stetson University, including several photographs of letters regarding a scandal at Stetson. Other images depict De Leon Springs, St. Augustine, and Jacksonville. The photographers are unknown, though one is thought to be Grant Bly, former DeLand city manager. His twin daughters are featured in this collection as children and young women. Other family members, including local businessman Egford Bly, probably took some of the photographs as well.

The collection also includes several photographs documenting construction of the Florida Overseas Highway extension of the Florida East Coast railway in the Florida Keys. These images document the tracks, construction equipment, and labor camps.
