Biographical/Historical:     In 1846, William Rowell and his relatives established the Rocky Ford Primitive Baptist Church near the western boundary of Taylor County. Originally located at Martin's Ford on the Aucilla River, the church later relocated nearby to Rocky Ford. The church disbanded around 1939 and all that remains is the cemetery.

Summary:     The collection contains various records of the Rocky Ford Primitive Baptist Church in Taylor County, Florida. The records include three volumes of original minutes and a microfilm copy of the transcription of those minutes. The minutes reflect the official business of the church and sometimes include lists of members present at the meetings. Also included are two photographs of the church association meeting in 1898, with notations of all identified persons; photographs and records of the church cemetery; and a copy of the original deed record.

    There is also a photocopy of an article on the history of Hampton Springs and the Hampton Springs Hotel located near Perry (Taylor County), Florida. These mineral springs, near the banks of Rocky Creek, were once a popular health and recreation spot in Taylor County.
