Biographical/Historical:     J. Henry Harrell (1895-1952) of Quincy, Florida began practicing law in 1918. In 1925, he won election into the Florida House of Representatives for Gadsden County. He also served as Gadsden County's prosecuting attorney in 1925 and 1926.

    Stanton Walker (1890-1940) graduated from the University of Florida law school in 1911. He was an attorney in Jacksonville, Florida and president of the Jacksonville Bar Association in 1929.

    The Great Southern Trucking Company was a freight carrier corporation headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida that operated in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee.

Summary:     The collection contains an assortment of papers and photographs of J. Henry Harrell of Quincy, and papers and daily ledgers of Stanton Walker and the Great Southern Trucking Company of Jacksonville, Florida. Among the papers of Harrell is his appointment as an attorney and counselor by the Supreme Court of Florida, dated June 11, 1918. There are also several unidentified photographs, most of which are probably friends and/or family members. Walker's papers include three ledgers/day books and correspondence related to his legal representation of the Great Southern Trucking Company in 1936. The collection also includes a 1930-1936 ledger, possibly belonging to R. B. Hickson, who may have been an insurance agent in Miami, Florida. The provenance of this collection is unknown.
