Biographical/Historical:     Clyde O. Swilley worked as a funeral director at the J.L. Reed & Son Funeral Home in Tampa, Florida, before starting his own business in 1959. The Swilley Funeral Home is still in operation at its original location on Waters Avenue in Tampa.
Summary:     The collection contains a microfilm copy of burial records of the Swilley Funeral Home in Tampa, Florida. The records provide information on the deceased such as name, death date, sex, race, marital status, birthplace, age at death, occupation, birthplace and citizenship, as well as the deceased's parents' names and occupations. The records also include autopsy information, time of death and the attending physician. Finally, the records provide information regarding funeral arrangements and location of the grave in the cemetery. The collection also includes random death notices and death certificates.
