Biographical/Historical:     Benjamin Marion Reed was born in Tampa (Hillsborough County), Florida, in 1874. He became an undertaker in Jacksonville (Duval County), working at the Jacksonville Undertaking Company until moving back to Tampa in 1906. There he established the B. Marion Reed Funeral Home. After his death in 1955, the funeral home changed ownership and became part of the Marsicano-B. Marion Reed-Stowers Funeral Homes.

Summary:     The collection contains a microfilm copy of burial records of the B. Marion Reed Funeral Home in Tampa, Florida. The records contain information about the deceased including name, race, birthday, birthplace, date of death, occupation and marital status. Also listed are place of funeral, certifying physician, clergyman and specifics on interment. Names and birthplaces of parents of the deceased are included as well. Finally, the record lists charges for funeral. Each volume contains an alphabetical index by surname.
