Biographical/Historical:     The Junior League of Tallahassee began in 1949 as the Tallahassee Service League. It became a member of the Association of the Junior Leagues of America in 1960. The Junior League is a club for women interested in the social, economic, education, cultural, and civic conditions of Tallahassee, as well as those who are interested in volunteer service to the community.

Summary:     In 1976 and 1977, members of the Junior League of Tallahassee conducted an Oral History Project that included a series of interviews with some of Tallahassee's prominent citizens. This collection contains the oral history recordings and interview transcripts produced as part of that project. The collection also includes an instructional cassette and filmstrip on conducting an oral history interview.
