Biographical/Historical:     In the 1890's, the federal government appropriated money for a major building program to construct federal courthouses and post offices. Jeremiah O'Rourke of the United States Treasury Department was the supervisory architect who prepared the architectural plans for the federal courthouse and post office building constructed in Tallahassee in 1893. It was demolished in 1964.
Summary:     The collection consists of architectural drawings of the United States Courthouse and Post Office built in Tallahassee in 1893. Architect Jeremiah O'Rourke prepared the drawings for the U.S. Treasury Department on November 10, 1892. The records include copies of blueprints of the floor plans and building details.
