Summary:     This series consists of resolutions passed by the City of Tarpon Springs, Florida, honoring individuals who served the community in various ways.

    Resolution 99-73 honors the late former Tarpon Springs mayor and commissioner Steve J. Lelekis. Resolution 99-75 honors the late Sayde Gibbs Martin, the former mayor and commissioner of Plant City. Resolution 2000-48 honors the late former Tarpon Springs mayor and commissioner Will Norris "Bill" Lane. Resolution 2006-60 honors the late city commissioner and businessman Phillip "Phil" Demas. Resolution 2007-39 honors the late public servant and businessman Charles H. Phillips. Resolution 2009-11 honors the late Jane Hoffman, an educator in Pinellas County schools for 33 years and an active missionary in the Tampa Bay area and worldwide. Resolution 2009-12 honors the late Edward Hoffman, Sr., a prominent area businessman, historian, preservationist, and aviation enthusiast. Resolution 2009-27 honors the late Mary Mosley, a public servant and City Commissioner who worked to protect the environment and animals, in particular cleaning of chemical waste and protection of wetlands and other environmentally sensitive areas. Resolution 2010-08 honors the late Dr. Gloria S. Hope, who served as Director of Nursing for the Veterans Administration for many years and served with numerous community and professional boards and organizations. Resolution 2010-13 honors the late Harry K. Singletary, Jr., a Tarpon Springs native who rose to Secretary of the Department of Corrections under Governor Lawton Chiles. Resolution 2012-20 honors the late Deputy City Clerk and Collector Dorothy Nicholas Pappas. Resolution 2012-27 honors the late Bradley Eugene Cole, Sr., an outstanding citizen who devoted his time and talents to the service of his church, Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church, the United States Marine Corps and was employed for 37 years by Progress Energy formerly Florida Power Corporation. Resolution 2017-04 honors the late Maria Nieves Edmonds, who was an exceptional individual devoting her time, talents, compassion and care to the Tarpon Springs community. Her numerous pursuits and contributions included: Associate Provost of St. Petersburg College, Tarpon Springs campus; Chair of the Intercultural Advocacy Institute; Chair of the Juvenile Welfare Board; Florida State Fair Hall of Fame; Susan B. Anthony Award, etc. Resolution 2017-10 honors the late George Michael Billiris, who tirelessly devoted his life promoting the sponge industry, tourism and preserving the history of Tarpon Springs. He recruited sponge divers from Greece to teach the local divers the trade.  Resolution 2019-31 honors the late Peggy Proestos who was a member of the Rotary Club, the Tourism Council, the GFWC Women's Club; and the past President of the Tarpon Springs Area Historical Society. Resolution 2019-37 honors James (Jim) Archer who served as a member of the Firefighters Pension Board and as City Commissioner. Resolution 2021-25 honors Carol Ellis Martin who supported the Jacobson Culinary Art Academy at Tarpon Springs High School and was a benefactor in the construction of the Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital and the City Library and a local business owner assuming the duties of her father's many businesses.  Resolution 2023-20 honors the late Officer Dobies, also known as Erni, a K9 member of the Tarpon Springs Police Department.  K9 Officer Dobies became a member of the TSPD in 2013 and served on the force for seven years with handler, Officer Tommy Nguyen, until his retirement in 2020.
