Biographical/Historical:     Osceola County was created by an act of the State Legislature on May 12, 1887 (Ch. 3768, Laws).  Osceola County was formed from the southern portion of Orange County and the western portion of Brevard County.  In 1917, the Legislature created Okeechobee County, in part from the southern section of Osceola County (Ch. 7401, Laws).  The Clerk of the Circuit Court in each county serves as the official custodian of deed, marriage, and probate records.
Summary:     This series consists of a microfilm copy of the deed records of Osceola County, Florida, beginning in 1887.  In the broadest sense, a deed (or conveyance) is a legal instrument by which real property is transferred from one party to another.  Deed books contain many types of title conveyances and contracts.  Among the most common types are warranty deeds, quitclaim deeds, and deeds of gift.
    This series is not indexed.  Furthermore, Volumes C, K, L, and N are missing.
