Biographical/Historical: ********** D E A C C E S S I O N E D **********    Baker County was created by an act (Ch. 1185, Laws) of the State Legislature on February 8, 1861.  Originally part of the New River County, Baker underwent one additional boundary change in 1911 (Ch. 6244, Laws).  The Clerk of the Circuit Court in each county serves as the official custodian of the records.
Summary: ********** D E A C C E S S I O N E D **********    The series consists of microfilmed copies of the petitions for delayed birth certificates and delayed birth certificates for Baker Country.  The petitions and certificates include the following information:  the individual's name, date of birth, place of birth, father's name and birthplace, mother's name and birthplace, date of parents' marriage, and type(s) of document(s) supporting the applicant's proof of age.  The petitions for delayed birth certificates are not indexed.  The delayed birth certificates are indexed.
