Biographical/Historical:     Franklin County was created by an act (No. 42, Laws) of the Legislative Council on February 8, 1832.  Originally part of Gadsden County, Franklin underwent one additional boundary change in 1851 (Ch. 412, Laws).  The Clerk of the Circuit Court in each county serves as the official custodian of deed, marriage, and probate records.
Summary:     The series consists of a microfilm copy of the naturalization records of Franklin County, Florida from 1907 to 1928.  The records include declarations of intention wherein the alien declares intent to renounce foreign allegiance and the naturalization certificate wherein the alien is administered the oath and certified as a citizen of the United States.  The declarations may include a description of the petitioner, the place of birth, and how long the petitioner had resided in the United States.  The records are not indexed.
