Summary:     This series consists of department evaluation materials, meeting records, proposals, background materials, and other records relating to Governor Lawton Chiles' Paperwork Reduction initiative.  The Governor's Task Force on Paperwork Reduction existed from 1995 through 1996 and focused on paperwork reduction, simplification of forms, and increased use of electronic forms and computer technology, compiling information and data from state agencies, county agencies, businesses, and private individuals.  Of particular interest are reports from the Information Resource Commission and the Joint Committee on Information Technology Resources, and correspondence and input from public forums.  Especially useful are the comments and complaints received in the public forums, complaints which give insight to the problems many businesses and individuals have in dealing with state bureaucracy.
