Biographical/Historical:     Citrus County was created by an act (Ch. 3772, Laws) of the State Lesislature on June 2, 1887.  It was formed from a portion of Hernando County.  The Clerk of the Circuit Court in each county serves as the official custodian of deed, marriage, and probate records.
Summary:     The series consists of the microfilm copy of some of the cemetery records of Citrus County, Florida from 1870 to 1980.  The information was compiled by the Citrus County Historical Society and includes transcriptions of the readable markers.  Also included are a few plats that provide locations to the graves in the corresponding cemetery.  At the begining of each cemetery listing there are directions for locating the cemetery in the county.
