Biographical/Historical:     Wakulla County was created by the Legislative Council of Florida on March 11, 1843 (Chap. 25, Laws).  It was formed from the southern portion of Leon County.  In 1892, a fire destroyed the Wakulla County courthouse.  The Clerk of the Circuit Court in each county serves as the official custodian of deed, marriage, and probate records.
Summary:     This series consists of a microfilm copy of the marriage records for Wakulla County, Florida from 1892 to 1961.  The series contains marriage records (1892-1961) and indexes to marriage records (1892-1937).
    Marriage record books consist of the recorded copies of marriage licenses.  They document when a couple applied for the marriage license, when they were married, and who performed the ceremony.
