Summary:     The series consists of a microfilm copy of the marriage records of Franklin County, Florida from 1887 to 1957.  The series includes record books (1887-1947), marriage licenses (1896-1957), and applications for marriage licenses (1927-1951).  The record books document when the couple applied for the marriage license, when they were married, and who performed the ceremony.  Each volume contains an index except Book 2 (1900-1913).
The marriage licenses are printed documents which the couple took to the individual who performed the wedding ceremony.  After the wedding ceremony was performed, the couple returned the license to the clerk of the court.  Each license book contains an index. The loose marriage licenses (1896-1927) are not indexed.
The applications for marriage license document the applicants name, age, race, birthplace, occupation, and whether he/she had been married before.  If either of the couple was underage, the left portion of the form, the consent affidavit, was filled out by the parent or guardian giving permission for the marriage to take place.  The applications for marriage licenses are not indexed.
