Biographical/Historical:     Bay County was created by an act (Ch. 6505, Laws) of the State Legislature on April 14, 1913.  Bay was created from parts of Calhoun and Washington counties.  The Clerk of the Circuit Court in each county serves as the official custodian of will, marriage, and probate records.
Summary:     The series consists of a microfilm copy of the wills of Bay County, Florida from 1913 to 1936.  A will is a legal instrument by which a person declares how they wish their property or estate to be disposed of after their death.  Wills usually contain direct statements of relationship between the deceased and his family and denote ownership of specific property and goods.  An index is located at the beginning of the volume.
