Biographical/Historical:     Pasco County, located on the Gulf in central Florida, was established in 1887 from a portion of Hernando County.  The County Tax Collector's Office is responsible for the collection of taxes as listed in the tax assessment rolls.

Summary:     This series contains a microfilm reel of land sold for taxes records for Pasco County, Florida, from 1874 to 1898.

    In 2005, 22 volumes were deaccessioned from this series. The volumes included tax rolls, records of land sold for taxes, real estate tax rolls, and Internal Improvement Trust Fund records of Pasco County from 1874 to 1969. The types of information found in the records include the description of land, name of owner, name of purchaser, value of the land, amount of sale, amount of tax, and tax sale certificate number. The records in the Land Sold for Taxes, Volume 1, dated 1874 to 1887, were for the Hernando County lands that became part of Pasco County in 1887.
