Biographical/Historical:     Altamonte Springs, established in 1887, is located in Seminole County in central Florida.  The Town of Altamonte Springs was reorganized as a municipal government with a town council and a mayor in 1921 (Ch. 8913, Laws, 1921).  The Clerk of the Town Council served as the Assessor and Treasurer for the municipality.  In 1967, the Town became the City of Altamonte Springs (Ch. 67-1079, Laws).
Summary:     This series contains tax records for 1921 to 1927 maintained by the Town Clerk's Office of the Town of Altamonte Springs, Florida. The records include a tax book, tax receipt book, and tax assessment rolls.  The tax book summarizes the tax assessments on real and personal property for 1921 to 1924.  The tax receipt book indicates how the tax funds were used from 1921 to 1927.  The tax assessment rolls are yearly lists from 1921 to 1927 that give the names of taxpayers, description of property, property value, and taxes.
