Biographical/Historical:     Pensions for service in the Confederate Army were authorized in Missouri by House Bill 465 on April 23, 1913.
Summary:     Confederates veterans could apply to the Missouri Adjutant General for a pension if they had at least six months honorable service.  Information contained on the applications includes the veteran's full name, date and place of discharge, brief description of service, if wounded, place of residence in Missouri, and length of residence in the state.  Since disability and lack of income were required for eligibility, that information is also included.  Some applications contain the name of the veteran's spouse and may also include other personal papers.  There may be more than one application for some veterans.  The ending date of these records is unclear.
