The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In, 2004, the House Spaceport and Technology Committee was re-established as a committee (2004 - ).  In 1988, the House Committee on Science, Industry, and Technology (1988-1990) became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws.  It assumed the functions of the House Committee on Science and Technology (1986-1988).  The Committee reviewed legislation on private and public utilities; telecommunication systems; space industries; and high technological industries.  In 1992, its functions were assigned to the House Committee on Regulated Services and Technology.
Summary:     This series contains audiotaped recordings of the House Spaceport and Technology Committee (2004 - ),  the House Committee on Science, Industry, and Technology (1988-1990), and its predecessor, the House Committee on Science and Technology (1986-1988).  The tapes document committee and subcommittee meetings and contain discussion on legislation pertaining to the regulation and development of private and public utilities; cable television; telecommunication systems; space industries; and high technological industries for the future economic growth of Florida.  The tapes are not transcribed or indexed.
