The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 2011, the House Committee on Rules & Calendar came back into existence with a Rulemaking & Regulation Subcommittee (2011- ). The committee has had several name changes over the years.  In 2003, the House Committee on Rules, Ethics and Elections changed their name to the House Committee on Procedures. Under the new name, two former committees: (1)  Rules and  (2)  Ethics &  Elections became subcommittees. In late 2004, the name of the committee was changed again to the House Rules and Calendar Council. In 2001, the House Rules, Ethics and Elections Committee was formed and assumed the responsibilities of the House Committee on Rules and Calendar and the House Committee on Ethics and Elections. In 1968 the House Committee on Rules and Calendar (1968-1996, 1999-2000) became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. 

        The Committee is responsible for setting the regular, special order, local bill, and consent legislative calendars and committee meeting schedules. It reviews most bills with a particular emphasis on all types of resolutions and reviser's bills. It also considers rules changes and points of order. The Committee was also known as the House Committee on Rules, Resolutions, and Ethics (1997-1998).

Summary:     This series contains audiotaped recordings of the House Committee on Rules and Calendar (1874-1996, 1999-2000, 2011 - );  the House Committee on Procedures (2003-2004);  the House Committee on Rules, Ethics and Elections (2001-2002); the House Committee on Rules, Resolutions, and Ethics (1997-1998); and the Select Committee on Hurricane Response and Preparedness (2018).  The tapes document committee and subcommittee meetings and contain discussion on legislation pertaining to legislative calendars; rules changes; resolutions; and reviser's bills.
