Biographical/Historical:     In 1997, the House Committee on Family Law and Children became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. The committee reviewed legislation on child support enforcement, responsible fatherhood, adoption, the Department of Children and Families, sexual violence, child custody/parental rights, domestic violence, substance abuse, and child welfare.
Summary:     This series contains recordings of House Committee on Family Law and Children (1997-2000) meetings. The recordings contain discussion on legislation pertaining to adoption, child custody, child support, child abuse, domestic violence, divorce, parental rights, foster care, grandparent visitation, and marriage preparation and preservation.
