The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In November 1996, the House of Representatives reorganized the standing House committees into Councils.  Except for the Procedural Council, each council shall consist of a chair, the Steering and Liaison Member, and the chair and vice chair of each of the committees assigned the group.  The Councils shall rank each of the bills upon referral in order of importance to the House and shall forward such ranking to the Speaker.  The ranking shall be amended as the council receives additional reports at least once each calendar week and no more than twice in a calendar week.  Councils may return bills available for ranking to the appropriate standing committee with a request for further consideration including but not limited to combining two or more bills into a commitee substitute.
    The Economic Development Council was formed in November 1998 when the Economic Impact Council was split into two new councils, the Economic Development Council and the Consumer Affairs Council. The Economic Development Council records contain information for the following committees:  House Business Development & International Trade, House Tourism, and House Transportation.
