Biographical/Historical:     In 1988, the House Committee on Corrections (1989-2000) became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. It assumed the functions of the House Committee on Corrections, Probation, and Parole (1976-1988). The Committee reviews legislation on the correctional system, parole, probation, executive clemency, prison construction, and prison industries programs.
