	Biographical/Historical:	In 1997, the House Committee on Utilities and Telecommunications became a standing committee under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. The name was changed from House Committee on Utilities and Communications (1995-1996). The Committee reviews legislation on public utilities; including water, wastewater and electrical utilities; and telecommunications. These functions had previously been part of the House Committee on Regulated Services and Technology (1990-1992) and the House Committee on Business and Professional Regulation (1992-1995).
