The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 2007, the House Committee on Tourism & Trade was created in the place of the House Committee on Tourism (1997-2006).  The House Committee on Tourism & Trade became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. The committee reviews  legislation on the promotion of tourism, cultural resources, international trade, small businesses, and economic development in Florida.
    The predecessors of this Committee were the House Committees on:  Commerce (1968-1976); Tourism and Economic Development (1976-1986); Tourism and Cultural Affairs (1986-1988); International Trade and Economic Development (1986-1988); and Small Business and Economic Development (1988-1990).  In 1992, it was renamed the House Committee on Tourism and Economic Development.
Summary:     This series contains the records of the House Committee on Tourism & Trade (2007 - ) and its predecessor committees: House Tourism (1997-2006);  House Tourism and Cultural Affairs (1994-1996);  House Tourism and Economic Development (1990-1994);  House Tourism and Economic Development (1977-1986);  International Trade and Economic Development (1987-1988);  House  Tourism and Cultural Affairs (1987-1988);  and the House Committee on Small Business and Economic Development (1989-1990).  The records include bill files, meeting files, correspondence, and subject files.  It documents legislation on the promotion of tourism, cultural resources, international trade, small businesses, and economic development in Florida.
