	Biographical/Historical:	In 1968, the House Committee on Standards and Conduct (1968-1970; 1976-1978) became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. The Committee reviewed legislation on ethics and financial disclosure for public officers and government employees. From 1970 to 1976, ethics legislation was reviewed by the House Committee on House Administration and Conduct (1970-1973) and the House Select Committee on Standards and Conduct (1973-1976). Special misconduct and impeachment investigations were handled by the House Select Committee on Investigation (1973) and the House Select Committee on Impeachment (1975; 1978). After 1978, ethics legislation was handled by the House Committee on Ethics and Elections.
	Summary:	This series contains the records of the House Committee on Standards and Conduct (1968-1970; 1976-1978), and its predecessors, the House Committee on House Administration and Conduct (1970-1972) and the House Select Committee on Standards and Conduct (1973-1976). It also includes the records of the House Select Committee on Investigation (1973) and the House Select Committee on Impeachment (1975; 1878). The records include meeting files, correspondence, and subject files. It documents legislation on ethics and financial disclosure for government officials and public employees, and misconduct and impeachment investigations.
