The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 2004, the House Committee on Spaceport and Technology (2004 - ) became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws.  This committee assumed the duties from the House Committee on Science, Industry and Technology .  Its predecessors were  the House Committee on Science, Industry, and Technology (1988-1990), and the House Committee on Science and Technology (1986-1988).  The Committee reviews legislation on private and public utilities; telecommunication systems; space industries; and high technological industries.  In 1992, some committee functions were assigned to the House Committee on Regulated Services and Technology.
Summary:     This series contains records of the House Committee on Spaceport and Technology (2004 - ) and its predecessors; the House Committee on Science, Industry, and Technology (1988-1990), and the House Committee on Science and Technology (1986-1988).  The records include bill files, meeting files, and subject files.  It documents legislation on the regulation and development of private and public utilities; cable television; telecommunication systems; space industries; and high technological industries for the future economic growth of Florida.
