The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 1978, the House Committee on Regulatory Reform (1978-1992) became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws.  The Committee reviews legislation on sunsets and sundowns; professional and occupational licensing; health care and medical policy; public utilities; and business regulation.  The Committee was abolished in 1992, and some of its functions were assumed by the House Committee on Business and Professional Regulation.
Summary:     This series contains the records of the House Committee on Regulatory Reform from 1979 to 1992.  The records include bill files, meeting files, subject files, and correspondence.  It documents legislation on sunsets and sundowns; professional and occupational licensing; medical policy; public utilities; and business regulation.  In 1996, the Committee on Utilities and Telecommunications took over the documentation of public utilities.
