The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 1990, the House Committee on Regulated Services and Technology (1990-1992) became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws.  The Committee reviewed legislation on the lottery, public utilities, and consumer services.  These functions had been handled by the House Committee on Regulated Industries prior to 1990.  It also reviewed legislation on the regulation of cable television, telecommunication systems, space industries, and high technological industries.  These functions had been handled by the House Committee on Science, Industry, and Technology from 1988 to 1990.
    The House Committee on Regulated Services and Technology was abolished in 1992.  Its functions were divided between the House Committee on Regulated Industries (lottery); the House Committee on Business and Professional Regulation (public utilities, telecommunications, and high technology); and the House Committee on Agriculture and Consumer Services (consumer services).
Summary:     This series contains the records of the House Committee on Regulated Services and Technology.  The recordsinclude bill files, meetings files, and subject files.  They document legislation on the lottery, public utilities, consumer services, cable television, telecommunication systems, space industries, and high technology industries.
