Biographical/Historical:     In 1980, the House Select Committee on Reapportionment (1980-1982) was established under the provisions of Ch. 69-52, Laws. The Florida Constitution requires that the state legislature redraw the boundaries of its voting districts after each decennial census (Article III, Section 16, 1968 Constitution).  This Committee reviewed reapportionment legislation for the 1980 census.
Summary:     This series contains records of the House Committee on Reapportionment from 1980 to 1982.  The records include bill files, maps, meeting files, and subject files.  It documents legislation on the redrawing of the boundaries of the election districts based on the 1980 census.
