The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 1968, the House Committee on Commerce became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. The Committee reviews legislation on financial institutions and securities regulations; consumer finance; corporations; economic development and international trade; tourism and cultural affairs; labor and industrial relations; trade regulations and commercial law; unemployment compensation; and workers' compensation.
Summary:     This series contains the records of the House Committee on Commerce (1973-1996, 2003-2004, 2017-2022), Banking (2001-2002), Select Committee on Gaming (2021A), Select Committee on Florida's Economic Future (2004), Select Committee on Oversight and Accountability for Florida's Pension Funds (2002), Interim Workgroup on Affordable Housing (2006), and the Select Committee on Hospital and Medical Plans (1976). Records document legislation on financial institutions and securities regulations; consumer finance; corporations; economic development and international trade; tourism and cultural affairs; labor and industrial relations; trade regulations and commercial law; unemployment compensation; workers' compensation; and all aspects of the insurance code.
