The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     The Secretary of the Senate serves as the recording officer of the Senate. The duties associated with the office include enrolling bills (Ch. 11.05, Florida Statutes), registering lobbyists (Ch. 11.07, F.S.), signing bills (Art. III, Sec. 7, 1968 Constitution), and keeping journals of the proceeedings. The Senate designates a Secretary to serve at its pleasure (Art. III, Sec. 2, 1968 Constitution).

Summary:     This series contains attendance records from 1976 to 2008 and voting records from 1984 to 2008. In some instances, the records also include committee recommendations. The Secretary of the Senate maintains these records for the various committees and subcommittees. The attendance records document the legislator and whether they were present or absent from a committee meeting. The voting records document the bill number, meeting date, name of the legislator and how they voted.
