Biographical/Historical:     In 1969, the Senate Committee on Judiciary-Civil became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provision of Ch. 68-35, Laws. The Committee reviews legislation on civil courts, judicial qualifications, probate law, procedures, family laws, uniform laws, tort reform, and other civil matters.

Summary:     This series contains recordings of Committee on Judiciary-Civil (1969, 1971-1972; 1975-1990), Committee on Judiciary (1973-1974; and 1991-2022), Joint Select Committee on Fair Complaint (1979), Select Subcommittee on Claims Bills (1996), Select Committee on Litigation Reform (1997), Conference Committee on Civil Litigation Reform (1997-1998), Study Committee on Public Records (2002-2003). The recordings document committee and subcommittee meetings and contain discussion on legislation pertaining to civil courts, judicial qualifications, probate law, procedures, family laws, uniform laws, tort reform, and other civil matters.
