The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 1988, the Senate Committee on Ethics and Elections (1988-1990, 2000- ) became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws.  The Committee reviewed legislation on voter registration, election laws, financial disclosure, and the code of ethics for public officers and government employees.
    In 1990, the Committee was abolished, and its functions were transferred to the Senate Committee on Executive Business, Ethics and Elections.  Prior to 1988, the Senate Committee on Governmental Operations reviewed legislation on the code of ethics; and the Senate Committee on Judiciary-Civil reviewed the election laws.  In 2000, the Committee on Ethics and Elections was re-established.
Summary:     This series contains the recordings of the Senate Committee on Ethics and Elections from 1988-1990 and 2000-2018. The recordings document the committee, subcommittee meetings, and conference committee meetings and contain discussion on legislation on voter registration, election laws, financial disclosure, and codes of ethics for public officers and government employees.  In addition, this series contains audiotapes of the Select Joint Committee on the Manner of Appointment of Presidential Electors. The recordings are not transcribed or indexed.
