Young describes sites visited by the doctors and procedures followed during testing and diagnosis.  He records his experience at the schools and notes the cooperation of parents and teachers. Young often lists the number of cases he investigated, treatments and preventative practices he suggested, public health concerns he encountered, and the names of people he spoke or worked with. In addition to providing medical treatment for the disease, he strongly advocated rural sanitation.
