The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Summary:     The series contains records of the Florida Public Health Association from to 1898 to 1974.  The Florida Public Health Association was formed in 1929 to assist public health workers with the promotion of public health programs in the state.  Membership was open to all professional public health workers in Florida as well as interested citizens and organizations. Jacksonville was designated as the association's head quarters.  The series contains membership rolls, programs, speeches, photographs, some correspondence, and a 1958 History of the Florida Public Health Association.  A gap appears in the association files for the years 1942 and 1943.
    The Florida Public Health Association and the State Board of Health collected these files during the 1960's to serve as a basis for the preparation of a history of public health in Florida.  Also included is biographical data collected on prominent people in the Florida public health field and historical information about the state's county health programs.  The biographical files contain biographies, correspondence with relatives and colleagues who were associated with the individual, and in some instances official State Board of Health correspondence which appears to have been removed from other original Board files.
